First we collected data for 2 weeks via a cronjob (thx @usefulthink) on our home-server and put that data into Excel afterwards. There we turned into a radar graph.
Turns out you can copy and paste vectors from Excel into Illustrator but a lot of lines needed some redrawing. The datalines though had no curves, so we could use them instantly.
The real challenge: finding 15 line patterns, that remain distinguishable in the chaos of the radar chart. Inspirations were needed and found in legends, that maps use to show different types of terrain and routes. For instance the legend of awesome OpenStreetMap:
A special thanks to my inspiration: the awesome people of the project "Workshop NodeBox – Quantified self data visualization"!
